Job Summary

An FCM actively applies their construction knowledge and skill set for the betterment of the project, for the client, the team, and the company. Demonstrates the capacity to support, guide, mentor and by his/her actions; how to deliver a well-executed project, embrace best practices, actively transfers knowledge and problem-solving skills across the company, while guided by the core principals of a successful team. The goal of our Field Management Team is to ensure complete client satisfaction, timely, actionable, and thorough resolution to issues, concerns challenges and opportunities as they arise.

Responsibilities

General

  • Execute to the Project Plan, the work progresses according to schedule (single site or multiple sites concurrently), ensures material and equipment are scheduled to accommodate various sites.
  • Ensure manpower is effectively coordinated and material purchases stay in line with Project Managers guidelines and budgets.
  • Communicate daily with the Project Manager and / or other Project members; both verbals, written, through clear and concise daily report, tracking change orders, progress reports, shortages and other issues as assigned.

Communication

  • Clear and effective communication within all levels of the DAVACO organization.
  • Review field issues and opportunities with the Project Manager or Others you are working with on a project.
  • Ensure job reporting and documents are submitted correctly and on-time.
  • Ensure positive communications with all persons associated with the project; both internal / external partners.
  • Participate in, contribute to, and conduct Field Employee performance evaluations as assigned.
  • Participate in the DAVACO FIP (Field Incentive Program) with a goal to rank amongst the top 5% of the Leader Board across the entire organization.

Field Execution

  • Ensure DAVACO Team and job site meet all DAVACO standards on appearance, cleanliness, safety, and professionalism.
  • Thoroughly understand project floor plans, fixture placement drawings, construction drawings, electrical plans, lighting plans, and all construction codes as affected by local/provincial ordinances.
  • Perform “hands-on” carpentry and construction duties to meet the time and action plan and any deadlines on an as needed basis to satisfy time constraints and manpower issues that may arise.
  • Delegate responsibilities and tasks to subordinate DAVACO crewmembers as appropriate. Follow-up, inspect, correct.
  • Quality controls check on all assigned projects.
  • Track change orders and track Leads as to require reporting that includes daily logs of trades on site and daily progress.
  • Notify Project Manager of fixture and material shipments.
  • Motivate employees on assigned jobs

The primary responsibilities are to:

1. Ensure absolute client satisfaction.

2. Ensure Quality Control

3. Ensure Leads complete projects on schedule and within budget.

4. Manage the details to ensure a “zero-punch list” project is completed.

Safety

  • Implement corporate safety procedures, ensure job site safety is a priority, and safety standards are followed.
  • Report all safety violations as outlined in the DAVACO Safety Policy.

Requirements

  • Carpentry, Stucco and hands-on construction experience, an asset.
  • Ability to travel nationwide for extended periods.
  • US/Canadian Dual Citizenship would be considered a strong asset, but not mandatory.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude, communicate effectively, maintain composure, adjust to adverse situations readily and effectively, cope well with stress.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Take initiative, be proactive, and anticipate adverse circumstances and rapidly changing situations. Be prepared with viable solutions/alternatives to resolve reoccurring problems.
  • Ensure all materials are on-site as scheduled according to the timeline. Work with the Project Manager or designated POC to resolve ongoing job-related problems.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to maintain positive interactions in any circumstance.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and quickly learn and implement new accounts with minimum training.
  • Thorough understanding of floor plans, fixture placement drawings, and construction drawings as they pertain to wall layout and placement of openings.
  • Ability to provide detailed feedback and engineering expertise as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, coordinate entry-level subcontractor work, and work with and around other trades and vendors retained by clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete projects on schedule and within budget
  • Demonstrated experience installing storefronts and completing the most detailed projects.
  • Extensive experience with the ability to perform all aspects of retail remodeling task.
  • Excellent safety record on previous job sites. Solid record of implementing and being responsible for corporate safety standards.
