Freeport, Pasadena, or Houston - Hybrid (3 days on site, 2 remote)

We are looking for a Technical Buyer to join our Procurement (GP) team in Freeport, Houston or Pasadena.

We are seeking a professional like you to join our team and support the Pasadena, Bishop and Houston sites. In this role, you will support sites and businesses with their procurement needs and will act as a first point of contact for the mentioned sites while coordinating within Procurement. Additionally, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering results for the Southwest Hub through the sale and recycling of used equipment and materials via our Resource Recovery program.

As a Technical Buyer, you create chemistry by...

  • Leading and managing the sourcing process (RFI, RFQ, RFP, etc.) for key contracts and complex negotiations to ensure the most competitive supply advantage for BASF, as well as supporting the purchase order creationand processing as appropriate.
  • Providing relationship management for key suppliers, which will include monitoring performance metrics,resolving claims and/or disputes, market intelligence, and other contributing factors affecting supply availability and pricing of products procured.
  • Conducting market intelligence research by interacting with key suppliers, industry associations, and internal stakeholders to collect industry relevant information and rationalizing to assess impact current andfuture to BASF.
  • Supporting the development of supply strategies for the North American region, you will work closely with thesites andthe Procurement Category Management to develop and implement sourcing strategies for productsrelated to thisportfolio.
  • Successfully engaging across the organization, you will work with all areas of BASF (Operations,Engineering,  Accounting, EHS, Tax, etc.) and all levels of BASF, both global and regional.
  • Working with a wide range of suppliers and multiple levels within the supplier’s organization to meet the needs of BASF.

If you...

  • Have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Supply Chain or related fields
  • Have 3+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering/Operations and/or Sales and Marketing
  • Possess experience with contract negotiations
  • Are proficient in market knowledge
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a multi-taskenvironment and being team-oriented
  • Currently possess or are able to obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)Card from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security.
