Position Details: Summary of Duties: The Tax and State Reporting Compliance Analyst is a key position in University Accounting performing various accounting and financial duties with a focus on tax compliance and state reporting. This position serves as the University Accounting expert on tax reporting and compliance, providing technical and professional support for federal, state and international tax compliance, reconciliations and submissions. This position will also serve as the University expert on Service Center analysis, reporting financial data to the state, providing expertise in state translations, reconciliations and reporting. The incumbent will also act as the accounting, financial reporting and state reporting functional subject matter expert for the University's support of Washington State's implementation to Workday
Required Qualifications: - A Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field, and three (3) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Experience using software and technology applications, including Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and relevant web-based applications, that improve workflow and organizational efficiencies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills which includes the ability to author, deliver and provide training of complex material to all levels of constituents.
- Experience working in a modern enterprise resources planning system such as Workday.
- Experience in accounting with working knowledge of appropriate use of debits/credits and account reconciliation of account ledgers to workpapers.
Preferred Qualifications: - Working level knowledge of departmental, University, state, federal and tax specific laws, rules, regulations and policies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information orally according to the needs of the audience.
- The ability to author, deliver and provide training of complex material to all levels of constituents.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
- Able to create, edit, modify, save and delete documents and spreadsheets, and locate and modify existing files and templates for reuse.
- Experience auditing, reconciling, analyzing data.
- A Master's degree in a related field.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
