Position Overview
As a Staff Accountant, you'll play a vital role in managing financial data for our clients. You will be responsible for analyzing general ledger accounts, compiling financial statements, and ensuring clients' financial information is accurate. Your communication with clients and other teams will be essential for data gathering and troubleshooting. You'll report directly to the Director of Accounting and have the opportunity to work independently in a flexible setting.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare financial statements by gathering and analyzing data from clients and various departments.
Record client inventories and transactions, including those not captured through POS systems.
Troubleshoot software issues and collaborate with teams to ensure smooth operations in accounting systems.
Manage banking transactions, petty cash, and daily deposits, ensuring all financial data is accurate.
Maintain client cash flow tools and reconcile balance sheets.
Prepare general ledger entries, making necessary adjustments to record assets, liabilities, expenses, and sales.
Review and make period-end accruals, amortize prepaid expenses, and ensure fixed asset depreciation is accurate.
Handle tax form preparation, auditing, and filing, including business tax license renewals and other quarterly filings.
Perform quarterly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned clients.
Resolve outstanding financial issues by communicating with relevant agencies.
Answer client inquiries about financial data, ensuring clarity and transparency.
Participate in special projects as assigned by leadership.

In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency with automated accounting systems, databases, and reporting tools.

Required Experience & Education
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
At least one year of experience in a GL accounting role.
Experience in the restaurant industry (FOH, BOH, Management) is required.
Candidates with 5+ years of accounting experience, even without a degree, will be considered.
Comfort with cloud-based systems and willingness to learn specific software packages is essential.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required, leading to overtime.
