Job Description
DESCRIPTION
The AWS Commerce Platform - Billing team is looking for a Software Development Manager (SDM) to join our team in New York.
As an SDM in the Billing group, you will lead and develop a team which owns a set of services end to end, from design to maintenance. You’ll help shaping the AWS end-to-end billing processes and evolve the systems that are the backbone to charge for AWS services' usage as well as the way customers consume AWS billing information.
This role requires you to be a collaborative and curious self starter and will allow you to propose and drive innovation to improve customer experience across many stakeholders. We don’t expect you to be an expert in billing, but we do expect you to be excited to learn about it!
Key job responsibilities
* Building, leading and developing a high performing team which owns a set of services end-to-end, from design to maintenance
* Working closely with internal customers
* Defining the strategy and product/technical roadmap
* Managing the operations of your systems and representing your team in large programs with cross-organizational impact
* Providing on-call engineering support on a rotation every ~1-2 months
A day in the life
We care about career growth and will try to find the right scope for you to innovate on behalf our customers and advance your own development.
Our team is family oriented and values work-life balance. We provide flexibility with a mix of being co-located in the office and working from home. While we sometimes have to work in the early morning to collaborate with our partners and teams in the EU, we offer flexible working hours in return.
As a team we all share on-call responsibilities. We don’t like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don’t get paged for the same issue twice.
About the team
AWS Commerce Platform (CP) provides the back and front-end services that enable AWS service teams to sell and AWS customers to purchase AWS services and understand and manage their infrastructure costs.
