Position Summary:

As an expert Information Security Consultant, you will conduct remote and on-site consulting projects, supporting our enterprise security practice from both pre-sales and post-sales perspectives. You will be responsible for assessing, designing, developing, demonstrating, positioning, provisioning, and implementing enterprise security services and solutions. Your role will also involve providing ongoing support to our clients, utilizing the best tools, techniques, and products available today.

Location & Travel Requirements:

This position primarily serves our Southern California client base through remote work, with occasional on-site requirements as business needs dictate.

Reporting Structure:

You will report to our Co-President, CTO, Security & Marketing, and may also receive direction from other members of the executive leadership team and the assigned Project Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support our Sales and Presales teams by providing top-quality solutions and services to our clients.
- Conduct security gap assessments using industry frameworks such as NIST, CIS CSC, and others.
- Serve as a Virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO), evaluating the organization's security posture, developing a prioritized security remediation roadmap, and leading security initiatives.
- Architect enterprise security solutions tailored to client needs, incorporating products from our security portfolio and respective implementation services.
- Perform ethical hacking services to assess clients' security posture, including vulnerability and penetration tests, IT security assessments, and other tactical security services.
- Compile comprehensive written reports related to clients' risk and business plans.
- Provide detailed post-evaluation reports to clients, offering remediation suggestions and guidance.
- Interview and evaluate clients to meet and exceed security-assessment, penetration testing, and remediation requirements.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation for clients and internal staff.

Product Knowledge and Certifications:

- Demonstrate strong knowledge and expertise in our security portfolio products, with formal certifications where applicable.
- Stay current with leading security products and solutions, and actively participate in knowledge sharing and portfolio development.

General Responsibilities:

- Complete necessary partner sales and technical certifications and engage in shadowing opportunities as needed.
- Develop a Bill of Materials (BOM) and detailed Scope of Work (SOW) for qualified sales opportunities.
- Provide daily status updates to clients and project management.
- Conduct formal and informal presentations of technical concepts to clients.
- Work during core business hours, with flexibility to accommodate client needs.
- Maintain communication via smart phone and respond to calls/messages and emails during and after business hours.
- Keep accurate records and notes for all client projects, including timekeeping, documentation, project plans, trip reports, and status reports.
- Perform special projects as needed.

Training Requirements:

- Attend up to two weeks of technical training per year.
- Stay current with ongoing training on supported products.
- Maintain current certifications and pursue new ones as directed by management.

Qualifications:

- Advanced degree in Engineering/Cybersecurity or related field, or equivalent IT industry training/experience.
- 5+ years of relevant technical experience.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification required.
- Additional relevant professional IT/Security certifications preferred.

- Ability to drive and utilize public transportation for travel.

Work Environment:

- Standard office environment with occasional travel.

Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a 10-year background check, education verification, pre-employment drug screening, and reference checking.
