We are looking for a Senior Electrical Instrumentation Engineer to join our Monomers team in Freeport, TX.

As a Senior Electrical Instrumentation Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering instrument and electrical engineering support to the Freeport Chemical Manufacturing operating areas. You will also provide technical guidance to the I/E/A maintenance team. This long-term, strategic-focused position involves driving maintenance, reliability, asset availability, and safety performance by implementing the most effective tools and techniques within the Polyamide (CM) business unit.

As a Senior Electrical Instrumentation Engineer, you create chemistry by...

  • Providing technical support for daily maintenance activities and offering design and technical information for maintenance and capital improvements.
  • Assisting Production, Project Engineering, Turnaround, and other Maintenance staff with technical support.
  • Supporting Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFAs) and troubleshooting issues, while also overseeing the maintenance, testing, and documentation of the site’s Safety Instrumented System (SIS) infrastructure, ensuring a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Applying your technical knowledge of instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical equipment to lead and participate in Accident/Incident investigations and RCFAs.
  • Utilizing your understanding of maintenance activities related to process equipment to address action items arising from audits, Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), Accident/Incident Investigations, and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Leveraging knowledge of relevant industry codes to create, review, and edit procedures concerning repairs, mechanical integrity, and equipment operation.
  • Demonstrating meticulous attention to detail to develop a Critical Equipment list and maintain a Critical Spares Inventory.

If you...

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Possess 7+ years of experience in either a chemical/petrochemical or refinery operation.
  • Have proficient technical knowledge of instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical equipment, as well as knowledge of applicable industry codes and maintenance best practices.
  • Have experience providing technical guidance in instrumentation and electrical systems.
  • Are familiar working with SAP.
