Hybrid This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren Technical Center three times per week, at minimum.

The Role -  The Semiconductor Purchasing / Supply Chain team within GM's GPSC organization is seeking a proactive forward-thinker that wants to impact GM's degree of resiliency within it's global footprint, while collaborating internally and externally. This opportunity requires candidates who are strong in driving creative solutions, thinking strategically and contingency planning. Success is defined by being comfortable with ambiguity and innovating ways of thinking that craft future possibilities and drive effective decision making.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

Collaborate across Purchasing and Supply Chain teams as well as with Engineering and supplier partners (tier1 and semiconductor)

Proactively assess potential sub-tier semiconductor supply chain risks.  Identify and execute solutions to enable increased resiliency in tiered supply chains.

Map semiconductor supply chains back to wafer fabrication to identify critical constraints. 

Support/lead projects that mitigate risk and strengthen tiered semiconductor supply chains 

Lead semiconductor supplier leadership reviews

Prioritize relationships and positive collaboration with tiered suppliers while driving results

Keep abreast of current product developments and trends in electrification, advanced safety, autonomous driving, and semiconductors to develop and execute a robust strategy

Adhere to corporate and unit purchasing and accounting practices and procedures

Support Sourcing and Contracting Activities

Participate in supplier KPI reviews

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

5+ years of purchasing and/or supply chain experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related degree/experience

Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams to effectively manage complex projects

High level of analytical ability where problems can be complex

Strong communication skills including ability to organize and execute leadership presentations

Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet expedited deadlines

Self-starter. Ability to work independently and self-directed.

Demonstrated competence in negotiating skills

Ability to travel on a limited basis (5% or less) including international travel

Dealing with Ambiguity

Strong business acumen

Managerial courage

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge ( Preferred Qualifications)

Proven supply chain crisis management support

Advanced degree and/or MBA preferred

Automotive strategic commodity purchasing experience
