Job Description

**Job Overview:**

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Lead Financial Analyst to join
our Enterprise Performance Improvement Division reporting to the Vice
President, Financial & Strategic Transformation.

In this role, you will support efforts to advance the performance of RWJ
Barnabas Health and all its subsidiaries.

The Performance Improvement Division focuses on ambitious but achievable goals
within our four pillars: service line development with a deep commitment to
provider alignment, workforce development and transformation, growth and
improved patient access, and financial performance and efficiency.

You will play a critical part in identifying, planning, executing, and most
importantly, tracking improvement efforts.

This data and visualization heavy role includes activities primarily related
to collecting and analyzing financial and operational data, identifying
trends, and providing insights that directly contribute to enhanced
operational efficiency and financial performance.


**Qualifications:**

_Required:_

* Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Health Administration or a related field.
* Proven experience as an Analyst, preferably within a healthcare or hospital setting.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and statistical analysis.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

_Preferred:_

* Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Health Administration or a related field preferred.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Tableau; experience with financial software and reporting databases is a plus.
* Understanding of healthcare operations, regulatory environment, and reimbursement models is preferred.

**Scheduling Requirements:**

* Full-time
* Day
* Hybrid work schedule

**Essential Functions:**

* Owning all aspects of a home-grown tracking tool, including transition from Excel into a tableau environment.
* Auditing data including transfer process from source systems into tracking tools.
* Reconciling realized savings to general ledger and other improvement reports.
* Identifying opportunities for automation of data feeds.
* Navigating disparate data systems and sources and synthesizing in one database.
* Develop financial models and forecasts based on specifications of individual projects.
* Supporting the Project Managers writing the specifications of Project Charter Key Performance Indicators.
* Attend, and if necessary, lead meetings in support of Project Managers related to analytic matters of various improvement projects.
* Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders summarizing findings and proposing actions.
* Incorporating performance improvement savings into ongoing financial planning, including the annual operating budget.
* Aligning improvement efforts with system and hospital goals.
* Ability to perform deep assessment of disparate business units who are struggling financially or operationally to achieve their goals.
* Performing ad hoc analyses as directed by the Senior Vice President of Enterprise Performance Improvement Division or Chief Financial Officer.
