Payroll Billing Specialist

Summary of Job Description

A growing and exciting privately owned company is searching for a Payroll and Billing Specialist. This position is responsible for leading customer payroll implementations for Benefits Plans, as well as all components of the accounts receivable portfolio, including invoicing and collection activities.

Responsibilities and Capabilities:

• Lead the end-to-end payroll set up process for client’s Benefits Plans.
• Coordinate with external payroll vendors for accurate payroll data exchange and reporting.
• Perform file imports into payroll system from various sources and verify accuracy of payroll data.
• Set up client accounts and billing information and ensure confidentiality and integrity of payroll data.
• Monitor and verify client payrolls are being processed timely.
• Prepare and issue invoices to clients accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain a record of all invoices and payment details.
• Monitor accounts to identify overdue payments and follow up with clients to collect outstanding balances.
• Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Generate and provide regular reports on accounts receivable status and aging to management.
• Maintain a professional and customer-friendly approach when communicating with clients.
• Address payroll-related client inquiries efficiently and effectively.
• Review payroll summaries and rate calculations to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies

Qualifications:

• 3 years minimum in a Payroll, Accounts Receivable and Collections position
• Deep understanding of Benefits Plans
• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting or related field
• Clear understanding of payroll taxes and their implications on company liability
• Demonstrated working knowledge of accounts receivable and general accounting practices
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Payroll Software’s
• Experience with Bill.com preferred
• Work at a fast pace but with a strong desire for accuracy
• Problem solving skills and ability to adapt to change
