Job Description

As the temporary Part-time Legal Assistant with this firm, you will play an integral role supporting the attorneys and a busy workload. This firm is interested in meeting enthusiastic, hardworking candidates who are interested in the legal industry. From assisting with document editing, finalization of probate forms, delivering important documents in-person and mailing needs to manual filing and preparation work, this role offers a variety of legal support. If you have experience with DC Probate, and are interested in a part-time flexible schedule of 15 hours per week, this could be the perfect fit for you!

About the Job:

• Work closely with the attorneys to manage the daily activities and client needs.
• Familiarize yourself with current estate clients and anticipate next steps when preparing documents, forms, binders and meeting materials.
• Coordinate the collection, valuation, and transfers of assets.
• Work closely with clients to provide excellent customer service and respond to client inquiries.
• Manage and organize client matter forms in firm’s database while combing through documents for typos and grammatical errors.
• Manage client information, organize client files, and file legal documents with appropriate courts.

• Legal and DC probate experience. You have prior experience supporting attorneys, specifically with probate processes and procedures.
• Adaptable. You can adjust your work schedule and style to fit the needs of busy attorneys.
• Detailed. You know how critical quality work is to a legal case.
• Service oriented. You always put the client first and deliver top service.
• Curious. Your interest in the legal field helps you provide superior support to the team.
• Writing and proofreading expertise. You spot grammatical errors in documents. Strong writing and editing skills are essential.
