Job Summary
The Health Center Coordinator will be responsible for managing activities and initiatives associated with Interim Healthcare’s staffing contract at the College of Idaho campus. Additionally, this role provides support to students needing access to resources, wellness, mental health, and performs a range of Medical Assistant duties under the direction of our medical practitioners and the Center’s Director.
Key Functions
Administrative
- Oversee all Health Center, both medical and mental health administrative operations.
- Ensures clients and visitors to the Health Center are greeted and encounter a welcoming, healing environment.
- Performs administrative assistant duties for Center’s Director as needed.
- Assign new clients among C of I counseling staff, medical staff and monitors counselor and nurse caseloads, schedules and works with Center Director on identifying staffing needs.
- Provide auxiliary support during crises including working with clinical staff to support services for students experiencing crisis; well versed in suicide assessment and coordination.
- Records and reports attendance data for student employees in Center and Peer Health Advocates.
- Assist medical and mental health clinicians, as needed, with maintenance of client records and ensures data integrity of client records to include FERPA and HIPPA compliance.
- Maintains equipment, supply needs and keeps detailed inventory management of the Health & Wellness Center needs.
- Aids in maintaining relationships with Interim Healthcare agency.
- Coordinates with clinical staff to update policies and procedures to maintain consistent processes within the Physical Health and Mental Health departments.
- Create and maintain student support spaces including cleanliness, organization and supply needs.
- In tandem with the Director of the Center, maintains a detailed, accurate and up to date budgetary record and meets monthly with Director to review.
- Tracks, process and keeps detailed records of all invoicing for Center activities.
Coordination
- Coordinate assessment and quality control of all Health Center programs and services.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to provide wellness-related educational outreach on varied topics from Title IX to Sexual Health education and other student needs as they arise.
- Administer the client satisfaction survey and analyze the subsequent data and provide presentation and reporting to team.
- Meet with other college and community counselors to maintain local standards of care.
- Provide and organize health clinics for students, staff, and faculty, including dental clinics, eye clinics, sexual transmitted illness clinics and more.
- Collaboration with Student Senate and Committee for Diversity and Inclusion for wellness related support
- Collect and organize referral resources for students including partnerships with local agencies, providers and Health Districts.
- Coordination of access to basic needs and other wellness referrals for students by working closely with other Student Affairs staff.
Supervision
- Hire, train and supervise student employees and manage training, schedule and ensures attendance and performance of student employees.
- Provide leadership on student assigned projects and daily tasks.
Additional Functions
- Collaborate and partner with Human Resources to assist students with health insurance inquiries.
- Participate in committees and meetings that are complementary to or will further the Student Affairs related goals of the College.
- Participate in presentation preparation, administration and comfortable giving speeches throughout the community and college
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of and ability to apply FERPA and HIPPA guidelines.
- Highly Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English; dual language skills with Spanish a plus.
- Ability to maintain an exceptional level of customer service.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills to support multiple personalities in a professional manner.
- Comfortable working with culturally and ethnically diverse populations.
- Must possess a strong work ethic and unquestioned personal integrity.
- Must be able to coordinate multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read, comprehend and write simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations to a diverse group of students, staff, faculty and the public.
Education and Experience
- Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant highly desired.
- At least two years related experience required in a clinical setting.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Must possess a current valid driver’s license, be vehicle insurable with a good driving record in accordance with The College of Idaho’s vehicle policy
Ergonomic/ Physical Activity and Requirements:
The functions of the position are usually carried out in an office environment and are usually performed sitting but may require some amount of time standing. Some amount of stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying and other movements may be required as well as lifting up to 20 pounds. Tasks may involve extensive wrist and hand movements. All individuals are required to be able to perform these movements without significant risk of injury to themselves or others.
This position will include some excellent benefits:
- Hourly pay ranges between $20 and $22 per hour, DOE.
- Fixed schedule from 10AM to 5PM Mon-Fri.
