Position Overview:
As a Lab Assistant Adjunct Instructor, you will assist the Program Director in delivering high-quality instruction for the Lab Assistant program. You'll play a key role in motivating and educating students, ensuring they are well-prepared for entry-level positions in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance and Standards: Adhere to all campus policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment for students.
Curriculum Development: Collaborate with faculty to help develop and update curriculum materials that reflect the latest industry practices and standards.
Faculty Support: Assist in recruiting, orienting, and training new faculty members, contributing to a supportive teaching community.
Administrative Guidance: Provide recommendations for hiring, promotions, disciplinary actions, and other employment decisions for faculty members within your department.
Student Engagement: Assist in organizing student orientations and graduation ceremonies, actively participating in these events to promote a positive campus experience.
Program Advisory: Help organize and attend Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings, contributing to the ongoing improvement of the program.
Student Monitoring: Track student attendance, monitor progress, and help reduce attrition by providing the necessary support and resources.
Technology Integration: Stay up-to-date with technological advancements in the field, implementing relevant tools and resources to enhance student learning.
Instructional Duties: Teach courses as required, utilizing effective teaching strategies and methods to foster student success.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Campus Dean and other personnel to support the overall objectives of the academic program and ensure positive outcomes.
Travel Requirements: Travel as needed for the role and related activities.
Other Duties: Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned, maintaining flexibility to meet the needs of the campus and students.
Qualifications:
Experience in clinical laboratory science, lab safety, and specialized lab testing.
Preferably prior teaching or instructional experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate students.
Ability to maintain a positive, professional relationship with faculty, students, and campus personnel.
A commitment to helping students succeed and reach their career goals.
This is a full-time, on-site position with potential for remote work when appropriate, subject to the policies in place.
