Job Description
We're excited to welcome a skilled and experienced Drone Pilot/Instructor to our team! If you're passionate about FPV (First Person View) drone flying and have a deep understanding of FPV systems, components, and flight theory, this is the perfect role for you. This part-time position offers a mix of remote work (approximately 50%) and onsite responsibilities. The role is 1099-based, determined by the number of courses scheduled and custom course requests.

What You'll Do
As a Drone Pilot/Instructor, your responsibilities will include:
Conducting FPV drone troubleshooting, inspections, repairs, and component replacements as needed.
Training and mentoring new pilots in safe FPV piloting practices and procedures.
Applying Aeronautical Decision-Making principles to ensure safety and efficiency.
Demonstrating moderate to advanced Acro Mode flying skills, including precision maneuvering.
Instructing and guiding pilots in advanced techniques like FPV racing, freestyling, and videography flying.
Utilizing knowledge of FPV VTX systems and radio theory to enhance pilot training.
Programming and working with OpenTX (Tango II), TBS Crossfire, and Betaflight software.
Binding, troubleshooting, and programming FPV drones to meet the current OGT Chimera build standard.
Using soldering and fabrication skills to construct drones to the required specifications.
Coaching new FPV pilots and helping them progress confidently.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
Extensive experience in FPV drone building, repair, and piloting.
Advanced Acro Mode flying skills (precision maneuvering is a big plus!).
FPV racing, freestyling, or videography flying experience (highly desired).
Proficiency in Betaflight; familiarity with Ardupilot/PX4 is a bonus.
Experience with 3D printing and soldering techniques.
Strong communication skills to effectively teach FPV piloting skills to others.
FAA Part 107 License (preferred but not required).
FPV training experience (highly valued).
A willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
The ability to obtain a SECRET Security Clearance.
Flexibility and availability for domestic and international travel.
