Job:
The Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager position is responsible for developing and maintaining effective environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) prevention/conservation programs.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee the EH&S function. · Develop and coordinate training to educate associates about safe work practices and hazards · Conduct and document new associate safety training and orientation · Perform periodic inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and work practices, improve workplace operations, and control hazards · Investigate and reduce accidents and losses in compliance with occupational safety and health regulations · Communicate, distribute, and enforce site specific safety procedures and federal, state, and local safety and health regulations · Maintain thorough knowledge of federal and state OSHA regulations and safety codes and environmental quality regulations · Distribute and/or post new or revised safety standards or regulations that affect the company · Create and maintain EH&S programs that are compliant with ISO14001 and ISO18001 · Conduct and document safety meetings with appropriate staff to cover all activities regarding safety of associates, company vehicles, property, and public liability exposures · Provide safe and healthy working conditions · Establish and enforce safe practices at all times by all associates; encourage associates and supervisors to report unsafe conditions; schedule or coordinate repairs, as needed · Respond to associate suggestions concerning safety matters · Communicate loss prevention information and program status to management on a regular basis and work to accomplish goals · Develop and maintain a proactive Return to Work Program; coordinate with appropriate staff and insurance representatives to identify and develop suitable temporary limited duty assignments for injured associates to perform during the recovery process · Conduct environmental audits of facilities and grounds; maintain applicable records · Coordinate environmental waste disposal; maintain records of waste manifest · Manage Medical First Responders team · Maintain paint usage records in database · Maintain and manage Department of Transportation (DOT) / CDL driver files, medical physical cards, and applicable training · Administer company random drug testing program in compliance with DOT and Company standards and policies · Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in related field · Minimum of three years related experience · Trained in hazardous material accumulation, recycling, container management, and spill response; attend refresher course annually · Ability to understand any and all environmental and safety requirements and cautions · Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task · Innovative team player · Intermediate computer skills are required · Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite · Commitment to excellence and high standards · Sound judgment with the ability to make timely, and sometimes difficult, decisions · Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines · Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment · Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities · Ability to travel 30% · Strong: o Communication skills, verbal and written o Interpersonal skills o Organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Education: Bachelor's Degree Required
