Job Summary:
The Directional Drill Operator is responsible for operating a Horizontal Directional Drill in accordance with OSHA guidelines. This position is responsible for safety and may direct workflow of a crew over drilling operations. The Directional Bore operator is responsible for the safety and quality of the crew.

  • Ability to meet background requirements and pass a drug test.

  • Knowledge of telecommunications industry

  • Good verbal communications and writing skills.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment including the directional drill.

  • Read specifications such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.

  • Inspect work progress, equipment, or construction sites to verify safety or to ensure that specifications are met.

  • Locate, measure, and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment, using measuring and marking equipment.

  • Confer with Project Manager, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities.

  • Arrange for repairs of equipment or machinery.

  • Review and process damage claims.

  • Follow the Company’s policies and procedures

  • Perform other duties as requested by the manager.

Additional Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of construction work experience

  • Understanding of all safety requirements per OSHA specifications.

  • Valid Driver’s License required

  • CDL-A preferred

  • Experience with operation of Drill and/ or other Heavy equipment.

Working Conditions-Field environment, flexibility of schedule.
