General Summary: Oversees the processing of probation cases for a division of the 52nd District Court. Oversees compliance of court policies and develops procedures for the probation unit. Provides assistance to professional staff for more difficult and complex cases. Assists with the implementation and coordination of special projects and/or programs assigned to the probation unit. Participates in the hiring of and monitors the performance of contractual workers supporting the probation unit. Investigates and interviews individuals convicted of misdemeanor crimes. Recommends and coordinates rehabilitation plan for persons placed on probation. Makes investigations to determine probationers' progress toward social and economic adjustments. Maintains case records of probationers, investigates, and recommends action regarding violations of probation procedures, and arranges for custody or detention of violators. Utilizing personal computer applications prepares reports and analyzes probation related information. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments. Required Minimum Qualifications:Obtain and maintain one or more of the following certification(s): Fundamentals of Alcohol and Other Drug Problems (F.A.D.O.P.) or as an Assessment Referral Management Specialist (ARMS) and/or Certified Addictions Counselor (C.A.C.).
