Job Description

Job Summary: The Automotive Service Director at Napleton Mercedes Benz, Volvo, Fiat, and Alpha leads a team of service advisors, technicians, and support staff to ensure exceptional customer service and efficient operations. This is a full-time individual contributor role with a base salary plus commission in the auto industry. Compensation & Benefits: The Automotive Service Director will receive a competitive annual salary ranging from $135,000 to $180,000, paid weekly. In addition, eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) plan, paid time off, and employee discounts on vehicle purchases and service. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the service department, including customer service, scheduling, and repair/maintenance processes and warranty compliance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase service department revenue and profitability.
  • Manage the performance and development of service department staff, including providing training and coaching as needed.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement action plans accordingly.
  • Ensure the overall cleanliness and organization of the service department.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers to promote repeat business and positive word-of-mouth referrals.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and parts, to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies, and make recommendations for process improvements and equipment investments.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within an automotive dealership service department.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and profitability targets.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Thorough understanding of automotive service processes, including scheduling, estimating, and repair/maintenance procedures and warranty requirements
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Dealertrack, Xtime, Microsoft Office and other computer software systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
