Department: Position Summary We are excited to welcome a new member to the SPDC in a role dedicated to working with student athletes. This position acts as the liaison between the SPDC and Athletics, working closely with staff in both departments to assure that services rendered are meeting the needs of student-athletes across Elon University. The position will provide one-on-one career advising/coaching for all Elon student-athletes, engage with employers to identify internships and full-time job opportunities, assist in the planning and execution of
SPDC career programs and events, and create and manage athlete-specific career development programs. In addition, this position is responsible for tracking student-athlete job and internship placement, regularly synthesizing and communicating that information to the Assistant Vice President of the SPDC and the Athletic Director.

Minimum Required Education and Experience Master's degree in Counseling, Higher Education, or related major
Preferred Education and Experience Two+ years of experience providing career, advising and/or programming to student-athletes is preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills essential, as is the ability to effectively work with student-athletes. Previous work with student-athletes is preferred.
Job Duties - Providing career development coaching and advising for all Elon student-athletes. - Serving as a bridge between Elon Athletics and the SPDC to access appropriate career development resources. - Creating and facilitating student-athlete career development programming. - Assisting in delivering SPDC programs such as the Job & Internship Expo, the Graduate& Professional Fair and other events held on campus throughout the year. - Working with corporate & employer relations team to identify internships and full-time opportunities for student-athletes. - Meeting with coaches and athletic administration on a regular basis to identify and help coordinate summer internships for student-athletes. - Advocating for student-athletes in SPDC programming. - Teaching a student-athlete focused Elon 1010 course every fall - Tracking employment and graduate school acceptance by student-athletes, collect outcome information and support First Destination reporting. - Coordinating communication of outcomes success through presentations, collateral materials or other forms of media. - Representing the SPDC and Elon Athletics to develop relationships with alumni and potential employers by attending Phoenix Club meetings and other university functions during the year. - Interfacing with Elon Athletics and assisting in recruiting events for prospective athletes and their parents as requested. - Demonstrating a commitment to NCAA rules, compliance, and adherence to NCAA regulations. - The position will report to the SPDC in close collaboration with Elon Athletics.
