Summary of Duties
As a Case Aide, you will:
Work across all child welfare program areas as a member of the service delivery team.
Provide administrative support to case carrying social service specialists.
Coordinate and perform duties such as documentation, data entry, transportation, visitation, and contacting service providers.
Support the engagement of children in need of placement.
Engage with families to improve the outcomes and timeliness of cases.
Contribute to risk and safety assessments and the associated decisions and plans.
Support the caseworker in tasks related to assessment and case planning activities.
Minimum Qualifications
One year experience assisting professionals in one or more specialized social programs such as family services, children services, senior services, mental or developmental disability services, substance abuse programs, juvenile corrections programs, or occupational skills programs
OR
Possession of a current certification in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Addiction Counseling Preparation, or Juvenile Corrections.
OR
45 quarter hours, or 30 semester hours of college course work in sociology, psychology, early childhood education, criminal justice, human services, juvenile corrections, or occupational skills training.
OR
An Associate's degree in a field not closely related to Social Work/Human Services and six months of human services related experience (i.e., work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, mental or physical disabilities, juvenile prevention, health, cultural competencies, and/or inadequate housing).

Working Conditions
Majority of your work will be conducted in the local ODHS Bend or Redmond office with some work in the community. You will have the option to work remotely 1 day per week, but this will need to be discussed with and approved by your manager.
Your typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST).
You will work a professional work week where the hours of work fluctuate on a daily and weekly basis to meet service needs. Occasional compensated overtime may be required to support caseworkers in meeting business needs.
You will have some local travel. On rare occasions, travel may be hours away. The purpose of travel will be to support casework and occasionally transport children.
You will interact with a wide range of people including some who have experienced trauma and may exhibit challenges in controlling their emotions.
You may encounter stressful situations that require quick decision-making to ensure safety of yourself and others.

A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.

The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship.
