Accountant Job Description:
As a Commercial Construction Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with the finance team and project managers.
Accountant Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and reconcile project-related financial transactions, including invoicing, expenses, and payroll.
* Collaborate with project managers to track project costs and budgets.
* Prepare and analyze financial reports, providing insights into project financial performance.
* Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
* Assist in the preparation of project budgets and forecasts.
* Monitor and enforce compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
* Work closely with external auditors during financial audits.
* Process and reconcile vendor and subcontractor payments.
* Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices.
* Provide support to the finance team in various accounting functions.
Accountant Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Previous experience as an Accountant in commercial construction is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of construction accounting principles and practices.
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial data management.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
