Job Description

Catholic Charities has an immediate opening for an Accountant to work 4 days a week at 30 hours. This position is responsible for accurate and timely accounts payable transactions and in collaboration with HR, responsible for the complete payroll process. Principal Responsibilities Expense Management
  • Process, verify and reconcile all invoices in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Prepare payment documents, print checks, and maintain and process electronic fund transfers.
  • Maintain accuracy and monthly reconciliation of expense accounts.
  • Responsible for vendor maintenance, including 1099 annual reporting and compliance.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedule and prepare monthly depreciation entries.
  • Responsible for the month end close process, including journal entry preparation, accruals, and allocations.
Payroll
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of employee payroll information.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll, including salary, benefits, and deduction calculations.
  • Coordinate efforts between payroll, human resources, and other departments to ensure proper maintenance of UKG data.
  • Analyze and reconcile payroll data to general ledger.
  • Evaluate payroll system upgrades to ensure adherence to regulations set by various regulatory agencies and internal policies of the organization.
  • Audit payroll procedures and perform corrective actions as required.
  • Responsible for quarterly and year end regulatory compliance and tax reporting
  • Assist in annual external audits including 403B and Worker's Comp audit.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is required with at least five years of accounting experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and Nonprofit accounting.
  • Proficient in Excel. Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT, Raiser's Edge NXT and UKG a plus.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
